LA JOIE DE CROIRE – Christine Tribulot
Vers le chapitre 2020
English Version
JOY OF BELIEVING IN LIFE, IN THE ENCOUNTER AND IN THE FUTURE
Valens Kabarari was 7 when in April 1994 the genocide of the Tutsis in Rwanda began. In the most horrific circumstances he lost not only almost all of his family but also his neighbours, his voice and his village. Today, Valens, now an adult, has lovingly drawn a picture of Valens, the young boy. It is through his child’s eyes that we see the emerging racism amongst his playmates and the unleashing of the butchery of genocide. We follow his path of survival and how with humour he handles his losses, the fear and the whole process of being rescued. From here on, the young boy on his own, must become responsible for his life and destiny and all that this necessarily brings with it.
‘Temoinage: Vivant’ is a universal narrative about the will to live
