Education in Totality

This year we commemorate 70 years since the moment communists tried to liquidate all the monastic orders in Czechoslovakia. Nuns had to leave their convents and they were allocated other jobs. At first, our sisters worked in the textile factory (n.p. Benar in Velké Březno). Later, in 1961, they were given the task of building and establishing the Institute for Children with Special Needs in Čížkovice and the children were there from the beginning. The sisters had applied themselves wholehearted to this work until 1985 when most of them retired. Despite the serious handicaps, they educated the children, enblaing them to be good and decent citizens, and grounded in their faith according to their ability to understand it. Indeed, the sisters have never given up and continue to live out our charism.

Une éducation englobante

Cette année, nous avons commémoré le début du temps où les communistes ont essayé, il y a 70 ans, de supprimer tous les Ordres religieux de Tchécoslovaquie. Les religieuses devaient quitter leurs maisons et on les a affectées à d’autres travaux. Au début, nos soeurs travaillèrent dans une usine textile (n.p. Benar in Velké Březno). Plus tard, elles furent chargées de construire l’Institut pour Enfants Malades Mentaux à Čížkovice à partir de 1961. Cependant le processus incluait aussi la présence de tels enfants. Les soeurs se donnèrent à cette tâche jusqu’en 1985, date à laquelle la plupart des soeurs quittèrent ce travail. Malgré les handicaps sérieux de ces enfants, elles les éduquèrent comme des personnes ordinaires, fondées dans la foi que les enfants comprenaient selon leurs possibilités. C’est un fait, les soeurs n’ont jamais démissionné, et elles ont continué à adhérer à notre charisme.

VÝCHOVA V TOTALITE

V tomto roku na Slovensku si pripomíname 70 rokov od chvíle, kedy sa komunisti pokúsili zlikvidovať všetky rehole v Československu. Sestry museli opustiť svoje domovy a svoje ďalšie zamestnanie im bolo určené. Naše sestry najskôr pracovali v textilnej fabrike ( n.p. Benar vo Velkém Březně ). Neskôr dostali za úlohu vybudovať ústav pre mentálne postihnuté deti v Čížkoviciach od r. 1961. Jeho budovanie však bolo spojené aj s prítomnosťou takýchto detí. Práci sa venovali až do roku 1985, kedy väčšina odišla do dôchodku. Napriek vážnym handikapom deti vychovávali ako slušných ľudí so základmi viery, ktorú deti chápali podľa svojich možností. No sestry nikdy nerezignovali a zachovali si vernosť našej charizme.
